College and Career Readiness Programs

Careers in Accounting and Management Professions (C.A.M.P.): C.A.M.P. is a week-long residential summer program hosted by the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and sponsored in part by MassCPAs Educational Foundation. The program features business-focused workshops, skill-building activities and field trips, and is designed to motivate underrepresented high school students to pursue collegiate majors, and ultimately careers in accounting and other business areas.

Accounting Career Exploratory (ACE) Leadership Program: The ACE Leadership Program (formerly known as ACAP) is a free one-week, non-residency college and career readiness program for underrepresented high school students who are interested in learning more about a career in accounting and business. The program offers a diverse set of learning experiences including panel discussions, interactive exercises, field trips and guest lectures from area business and government professionals. The program is designed to be fun, challenging and engaging. Students explore, network and increase their understanding about college and the business world while making new friends and developing interpersonal skills in a real-life college setting.

Educational Opportunities for Students and Educators

Accounting Program for Building the Profession (APBP): The APBP advanced accounting course is a rigorous college-level experience in the fundamentals of financial and managerial accounting. Students who excel in the course, which is owned by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), will receive college credit at participating universities. MassCPAs periodically hosts a summer training program, in coordination with the AICPA, for high school educators who are interested in teaching the course. If you would like to participate in a training or if you need more information, please contact Zach Donah at

Early College High School Academy: MassCPAs launched an early college high school pilot academy in partnership with the NAF, Haverhill High School and the University of Massachusetts Lowell in September 2018. The academy is a four-course track that will allow Haverhill High School students to earn up to 12 college credits at UMass Lowell. The curriculum includes the APBP advanced accounting course, AP microeconomics, AP statistics and principles of information technology. In addition to studying career-focused curriculum and working on collaborative projects, students who join the academy will gain critical career knowledge through a series of work-based learning activities both inside and outside of the classroom. These activities include job shadowing, mock interviews and résumé writing workshops, culminating with a paid internship. The educator training and other startup costs for the pilot program have been fully funded by MassCPAs Educational Foundation. For more information, click here.

MassCPAs plans to scale this program to high schools across the state in the future.
