Philosopher William James said, “the deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.” When people don’t feel appreciated, they’re less likely to stay motivated and build a career with your organization. The challenge is that we don’t all speak the same language when it comes to expressing appreciation. In this session, we’ll discuss different ways that people are motivated and identify methods for communicating appreciation based on individual preferences, so you retain engaged, quality talent. Learning objectives for the session include recognizing the impact of this feedback and acknowledgement, listing the five languages of appreciation to create awareness, recalling methods to uncover your team’s appreciation language and more.
