Overview
Tax planning is more than an estimated tax calculation, it's a process. Where are we now and what can we change? This timely program will highlight significant 2023-24 tax developments and discuss key tax planning ideas for your clients as you prepare for the upcoming tax season. Don’t wait until late December to start planning for your clients!
This course qualifies for reimbursement through the state’s Workforce Training Express Fund. As of April 7, 2025, the state’s Workforce Training Express Fund suspended reimbursements for training costs to Massachusetts businesses. While we don’t have a confirmed timeline for the program to resume, it will likely be sometime this summer. We will continue to monitor this closely and encourage you to visit the state’s Workforce Training website for the most current updates and guidance.
This course qualifies for reimbursement through the state’s Workforce Training Express Fund. Firms/companies with fewer than 50 staff can be reimbursed up to 100% of the cost of training and firms/companies with 50-100 employees can be reimbursed up to 50% of the cost of training. You must register for the course and apply for reimbursement through the Workforce Training Express Fund website a minimum of three weeks prior to the start of the course. Douglas Van Der Aa, CPA Crossings LLC
Doug has been a discussion leader for Federal Tax Workshops, Inc., East Lansing for the past 8 years. He is a lively and energetic speaker - especially on the subject of taxes and ethics, and has extensive experience in leading discussions in conferences, seminars and webinars. He is a regular and highly rated speaker and seminar leader for the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, as well as other organization throughout the country. Doug has over 20 years of experience, including tax practice in CPA firms and the practice of transactional business and real estate law as an attorney. Formerly, Doug was a Tax Manager with Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter, P.C. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where his practice concentrated on the tax needs of mid- sized closely held businesses, with their related pass-through entities, complex individual returns including AMT issues, together with their estates and trusts. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in accounting from Dordt College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law.
