Tax Preparer/Reviewer

Cullen Murphy & Co., P.C. is a boutique firm located in Norwood, MA servicing business and individuals in specialized areas of tax, accounting, and advisory services. We strive to provide a personal proactive experience built around long term relationships and meaningful insight. We are seeking a candidate for a per diem tax position.  The ideal candidate should have a passion for tax compliance, tax planning and strategy, tax research and client service.  Construction industry experience helpful but not required. Compensation competitive with industry and commensurate with experience.  Responsibilities include: ·         Review and preparation of Forms 1120. 1120S, 1065, 1040, 1041 , 706 and 709 ·         Tax research on topics related to tax compliance and planning. ·         Proactive identification of client planning opportunities, credits, deductions and other tax optimization strategies ·         Communication of technical matters to clients. Required skills: ·         Thorough understanding  of individual taxation with focus on business owners, investors, real estate, tax credits, family and trust work and matters concerning high net worth individuals and high-income individuals with complex tax profiles. ·         Thorough understanding of entity taxation with a focus on pass through entities and familiarity with 990, estate tax and related matters. ·         Familiarity with business tax planning strategies ·         Strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code ·         Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and grow client relationships. ·         Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
