October 03, 2022

Diane Zouabet Tchaya is a 2022 MassCPAs scholarship recipient. She spent the last nine months as an audit and assurance intern at EY and recently accepted a position at the firm as staff 1 auditor. Read on to learn how receiving this scholarship has impacted her personal and professional life, her tenure at a Big Four accounting firm and more.

How has receiving a MassCPAs scholarship impacted your career and personal life?
It was a huge relief for me as it helped reduce my tuition debt and remove some of the anxiety I had.

How do you find a balance between your career and personal life?
I aim to be as organized as possible. I always have a schedule for the day, and make sure to accomplish the tasks on my to-do list by order of priority and to get things done.

You recently accepted a new position at EY – congratulations! Tell us about your experience as an intern at the firm and what you hope to gain in this new role.
I had a great experience that allowed me to learn more about the company from an inside point of view and better understand my role and expectations as an auditor. I hope to learn as much as possible in my new role and to grow as an expert in my field.

What’s your proudest accomplishment?
I graduated with a double master's degree in accounting and MBA while having to work overnight and take care of my family.

Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
As an expert and a referral in my field, as well as a leader who can help others achieve their highest potential.
