Board of Trustees
It’s an exciting time to be on our Theater’s Board of Trustees. We’ve just completed a strategic planning initiative and are beginning to implement it; we are looking forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2024; and our theater is full once again as people of all ages return to the theater. Every Trustee works to ensure the sustainability of Puppet Showplace, and we welcome members from all backgrounds and disciplines. There is a place for you to have a measurable impact on this beloved landmark and cultural institution.
Being a board member of Puppet Showplace Theater is a special, meaningful experience that has included receiving a thank-you letter from a 7-year old who has just been to their first live performance at our theater; welcoming our first school field trip back to the Theater since the start of the pandemic; providing a platform for puppeteers from under-represented communities; presenting teen and adult programs; and, of course, working with an incredible, dedicated, collaborative, and fun team.
We are especially seeking new trustees with experience in accounting or finance, human resources, law, fundraising, marketing, diversity and inclusion, and non-profit management. We have 100% giving goal for our Board members, with many options for meeting this commitment. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and abilities. We especially value Trustees who are good collaborators and problem-solvers and who have an excellent sense of humor.
The Puppet Showplace Theater Board of Trustees plays an active role in shaping the theater’s direction by providing governance and oversight, and providing fundraising support through cultivation and stewardship. Trustees spend time addressing the non-profit management of the institution on monthly and annual initiatives. Serving as an ambassador for the Theater is a key role for our Board members.
